Abstract
The tooth with complicated crown-root fracture or cervical root fracture presents a lot of problems in respect of coronal restoration, especially when the fractured line extends below the marginal bone level. Orthodontic extrusion or surgical extrusion to save such teeth has been recommended. Surgical extrusion is a one- step procedure which is simpler and less time-consuming than orthodontic extrusion.
In this case, a surgical treatment involving a simple extraction and stabilization technique was found to be successful in conserving a maxillary incisor with crown-root fracture.
Several considerations regarding surgical extrusion were discussed.
